Hello world!
Hope, fueled by Faith,
Based on the Promises of God
Sunday Mail
I started writing Sunday mail to send words of hope and faith to just a few people. As word spread, so did the request for emails of encouragement and guidance.
I tried backing away from doing any writing, in fact I had stopped. A few who had received mail from me reignited the process and as I started, I heard God call me to send His words to His sheep.
I have found this endeavor very rewarding. I know the words are inspired by God to reach the non-churched and baby believers.
If I can help plant the seeds, I am sure God will reap the harvest.
Here you will find samples of past Sunday Mail. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed writing them

Discouraged
Psalm 43:5 Why am I discouraged? Why am I restless?I trust you! And I will praise you again Because you help me, and you are my God.
Everyone remembers the movie The African Queen. Set in Africa during WWI, the movie is a tale of romance and adventure. In the movie, Charlie Allnut (Humphrey Bogart) is persuaded by a strait laced missionary ( Rose, played by Katharine Hepburn) to use his small boat to attack a German cruiser. The war ship is moored in a large inland lake, and to reach it Allnut has to navigate the African Queen down a long treacherous river. The journey is a nightmare. White-water rapids, crocodiles. A broken propeller. A waterfall. Mosquitoes as thick as fur. Finally the river disappears into a shallow swamp. Allnut wades through the swamp, his legs thick with leeches, towing the boat with a rope, one step at a time Still miles to the lake (so it seems), the boat gets stuck in the mud, and Bogey can’t budge it. The trip is over. Worn out and deciding he has failed, Charlie and Rose collapse in the boat and fall asleep. It begins to rain and the water begins to rise, setting the African Queen free from the mud. Charlie and Rose now see that while stuck in the mud, they were just a few yards from the lake, hidden behind the reeds.
You may be inches from you goal, and not the miles you believe, Still, if you have done all you can possibly do – work, pray, sweat, struggle- perhaps it is time to surrender. Turn the process over to God, whose will for you is perfect, and whose plans for you are more in your favor than you can imagine. What projects and plans have you been struggling with, with no success to show for it? Finding the right job? Meeting the right person? Leading to frustration.
If you have done all you can do, you’ve done all you can do. Stop trudging through the swamp. Stop trying to make something happen. Surrender. Give it to God, and then rest in peace. Who knows; the big lake may be just the other side of the reeds. And even if it isn’t, you’ve done all you can do.Your plans and projects are in the hands of God. Where else would you want them?
Worry
Worried that the bills are paid? Worried what your kids are doing? Worried about your health? Worried about the future? Worry. Worry. Worry! What a futile experience. The worries in our lives can consume us, they can overwhelm us. They will take over our lives so that we no longer enjoy life and all that it can be.
Proverbs 12:25 Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.
Why do we worry? What do we worry about? When we worry can we change the outcome of any event? The answer is NO! Then why? Why is it we spend so much time in worry? We tend to believe that we are in control of the path we are on. We believe we have the answers to life’s problems and we worry because we really don’t and we can’t really change a thing.
Luke 12:29 Don’t worry whether God will provide it for you. These things dominate the thoughts of most people, but your Father already knows your needs.
We are instructed to leave it to God. We are not aware of the whole path or what lies ahead. Look at Jesus, he knew his fate, to be judged and hung on a cross to die. Jesus understood it was his path, God’s plan. There was no worry lines in Jesus’ brow, there was not fretting on His part. Jesus walked the path knowing His fate. Knowing all this, Jesus prayed, waiting quietly in the garden.
Psalms 37:7 Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act.
Instead of using the energy on worry, use that energy to pray. Use that time to know who really is in control and who has all the abilities to change the outcome and fill your needs.
Matthew 6:34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Worry, a wasted effort in attempt to change our lives and/or make things different. Our lives ultimately are in God’s very capable hands. The God that watches over us, protects us, and provides for us. In our times of worry, we forget what God has already done for us and we forget what God is capable of doing when called upon.
Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
I encourage you today to take the time to reflect on the things you have and the trials you have been through and see the places that God has been in control of the outcome.

I’m a recipient of these inspiration mailings. The array of spiritual messages they deliver often coincide with intense lows and highs encountered in day to day life, helping me to see things from a new, enlightened perspective. Thank you David for bringing His word to us when we need it most. xoxo
